Dear Coach, "Just wanted to let you know that I had a great outdoor ride today. I felt great and made a personal best time – an average 15.5 mph. It was only a 12.8 mile ride but I sort of thought of it as a individual time trial. I felt strong and, again, realized that despite working very hard, I wasn’t going to die!!! "Jay, though I came in at the bottom of the heap at the National Masters I feel as though I won. Last year at this time, I would not have even been able to consider participating in Rendezvous or the Bend competition. I would not have finished and if I did it would have taken a whole day with lots of whining and pain. I thank you for whipping me in shape, for knowing how to make me the best that I can be. You have taken me to levels I never thought could be. So adios to just going to the gym for 40 minutes everyday because you have given me possibilities, possibilities that I never thought could even be reality.
